We are seeking to hire for a temporary 1-year (June 10, 2019 to approximately June 10, 2020) contract position as a Material Handler with Occupational First Aid Level 2 certification to join our team at the New Westminster project for the night shift. 


  • Be accountable for handling and documenting all first aid concerns on the project site
  • Be responsible to support the trades with construction work associated with plumbing and pipe fitting such as:  receiving material and check off packing slips for accuracy;  dispersing material to locations on the job site;  sweeping and cleaning work areas
  • Participate in other duties as requested


  • Occupational First Aide Level 2 certification (might be willing to accept candidate with OFA Level 1 with the commitment for completion of training to obtain the Level 2 certification)
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to work and learn
  • Good work ethics
  • Must be committed to promptness and reliability

 HOURS OF WORK:         Nights from 8:00 PM to 6:00 AM PST Monday to Friday

SALARY:             As per Union rate of $18.00 per hour + an additional $6.00 per hour differential premium pay


  • The work conditions are construction related, all employees are required to bring a pair of steel toed work boots ( Must be high tops and CSA approved ) and Modern Niagara will supply all other PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required for the job.
  • Hires will go through a safety program and get orientation upon their arrival to site to make sure they are aware of the site dangers, where first aid is; and all other site safety orientation.
  • Modern Niagara has an excellent safety record and our safety is our number one priority to ensure every employee goes home without injury after every shift.
