We are looking for Skilled Trades People with experience in Sheet Metal (HVAC) to join our team in Ottawa!

 

Working as a sheet metal worker with Modern Niagara, you will install, maintain, repair and overhaul HVAC systems for high rise residential projects.

Overview of Responsibilities:

 

  • Read and interpret blueprints
  • Installing, troubleshooting and overhauling HVAC systems
  • Measuring and selecting of components for installation
  • Testing and quality checking of systems and materials
  • Trouble shooting and identifying solutions and applying
  • Must be safety conscious

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

  • You must be registered with the College of Trades as either a journeyperson or apprentice in the sheet metal trade.

 

  • The following certifications are required; however, training will be provided if necessary
    • Global WHIMIS
    • Fall protection, working from heights
    • Worker health and safety awareness
  • Experience in high rise construction would be an asset
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry with working knowledge of the tools, materials, and equipment of the trade
  • Previous experience working in the sheet metal trade, as a skilled worker required- union or non-union experience acceptable
  • Attention to detail, print reading, and understanding of schematic and drawings
  • Strong team player
  • Must be driven, with strong work ethic
  • A criminal background check may be required
